The Davenport Radio Amateur Club is an amazing club, it is a delightful mixture of young and old, newbies and lifelong pros. We welcome guests to attend a meeting and join in to listen, ask questions and learn. I am so thankful to have earned the opportunity to serve as the President of the club and will do my best to help the club grow and encourage anyone interested in learning about the Ham Radio hobby. My expectations are many and I hope that as a group, we can share ideas, learn from programs and have fun spending time with other Hams and their families. I have only been involved with the club and the Ham Radio hobby for a few years but have enjoyed learning so much and feel like it is so rewarding when all those baby steps start fitting together.
After conversations with others, my goal, most importantly, is having a positive and productive meeting that is beneficial to all and learning all phases of Ham radio and related topics. Some of the other goals I have are to develop a routine of programs and presentations, promote the Ham hobby to the general public at events, support the VE testing program, grow our Hamfest to one of the best around and enhance the Field Day to draw people interested to try out radios and listen in to active radio conversations.
Whether you’re looking to get on the air for the first time or take your interest in amateur radio to a new level, the Davenport Radio Amateur Club has many years of experience supporting hams in pursuing their interest in amateur radio. We would love for you to join us. I welcome your questions and comments. Email me at dracpresident@gmail.com
I look forward to working with an awesome team and a wonderful group of people.
Sincerely,
Joyce Taylor, KF0ITI
