The Davenport Radio Amateur Club is an exceptional organization, and I am proud to be serving as its president for the 2023 year. I do this with great respect and honor to all of those who have served in this capacity before me. Our club has participated in many great community events over the years, and this year will be no different. My vision for our club is to continue moving forward in a positive direction, facilitate the growth of our Hamfest, and participate in community events to promote our club to the general public. In addition, it is my intention that our club donate one amateur radio related book to every school library in the Quad Cities area to introduce ham radio to the young generation.
In serving as a club member for over 10 years, I share many of the same goals and ideas as most members in this club. As I begin my year as president, my goal is to perform a complete inventory of club equipment, evaluate and update club by-laws to reflect the current era of technology and regulations, hold time-efficient and productive meetings, and continue to utilize the talent and expertise of our club members through informative and educational presentations at our monthly meetings. My goals for the club during my tenure may seem ambitious, but I am confident that they are attainable with the help and support of our leadership team and all our dedicated club members.
