Two WinLink gateways are now operational in the Quad Cities metro area. One in in Milan and one is in Davenport. One or both should be reachable within the metro area, dependent on your equipment. Both operate on VHF at 145.610 MHz. The Davenport station, N7BBI-10, handles Vara FM & packet traffic and the Milan station, W9XG-10, only handles packet traffic at this time.
Digipeaters, N7BBI-4 and W9XG-2, attached to both stations. Digipeaters may be used to relay traffic to more distant stations. Traffic is sent directly to N7BBI-10 in RMS Express or Pat WinLink.
For traffic to Milan, use Connection type: Digipeater to W9XG-10 Via: W9XG-2 in RMS Express. For traffic to Milan, set Target to: W9XG-2/W9XG-10 in Pat WinLink.
These are both VHF only gateways. The nearest HF gateway is NS0A north of Geneseo. Other gateways, using various protocols and bands, are available across N. American and are listed on WinLink.org
Thank you to Dan (N7BBI), Walt (WA9LT), Brian (K9KQA), & the State of Illinois for help in building and resurrecting this critical infrastructure.
Additionally, there is also a Packet RMS station at Wilton (N0MRZ-10) and at Geneseo (NS0A-10). There is also a VaraFM RMS station at Geneseo (NS0A-10) and all operate on 145.610.
